JACKASS MENAGERIE

The Jackass Menagerie (JAM) was a folk rock band led by Nicholas Polys and Larry Houghton. The band formed from a Monday night JAM at Larry's house. All members in the band were grad students, field researchers or faculty at Virginia Tech. Band members included Nicholas Polys on electric and acoustic guitar and vocals, Larry Houghton on upright bass, acoustic guitar, and egg shaker, Brian Olsen on Sax, harmonica and vocals, Jonathan Cohen acoustic guitar, keys and vocals, Scott Klopfer vocals, electric bass, and acoustic guitar, Ken Convery on drums, and Mike St. Germaine percussion. We played a mix of covers and originals. The album "in no particular order" is all original tunes. This was my first venture into rock and roll. We played together for a few years. I will always be thankful for the opportunity to play music with these guys and the friendships formed during my tenure with this band.
